On Friday March 11 2005 from 16.00 to 17.30 the IAED will host an open meeting in cooperation with the Danish Folk High Schools at Nytorv 7, Copenhagen K, Denmark. We will remember the victims of the Madrid bombings - and reflect on terrorism, civil rights, democracy and the role of education. Such meetings are held all over the World. How should we understand multilayered democracy? This powerpoint was used as the basis of a presentation from Jakob Erle at a conference at the Nordic Folk Academy in Gothenburg on May 8. 2004. The scenario method is a powerful tool for political dialogue and citizenship education. It is very suitable for the establishment of common ground. Here you can find 40 scenarios on the future of Denmark and Europe. They are available in Danish and English.

Games are very useful in conflict resolution-work. The River Zinga Game was introduced at UNESCO's V. World Conference on adult education in Hamburg in 1997 and has been used in Macedonia and Central Africa.

In the summer of 2002 1000 young Europeans worked on proposals for a European constitution at 13 Danish Folk High Schools. Here you can find an overview of the results of the work.
