At Grundtvigs High school Frederiksborg the factors resulting from the answers of the students were whether religious belief will be a private or public matter, and whether there will be more weight on the sense of community or the sense of individuality. This gives the following tendencies:
The four themes resulting from the tendencies are illustrated beneath:
The students’ work with the factors was departed from the following text: Within this theme we will imagine how our relationship to the spiritual will be in ten years. We tend to fall in the cliché: ”There is more to the world than meets the eye”. But how will our relationship with the spiritual dimensions of existence be in the future. Will a new religious awakening make us more aware of the spiritual? Will the traditional church become a frame for a new revival or will we choose new paths? Will the state church prevail or will relogious monopolies come to an end? Will Denmark become a multi-religious society in the near future, and will we be able to cope with that without major confrontations? Will religious fundamentalists succeed in scaring many people away from the churches, who are against identity politics? Or do we use the churches to fundamental reflections on who we are as nation?
The European Union is working to find “the European Soul”, because it has been acknowledged that the spiritual dimension is missing from the existing political community.
How do we see the soul of a European People?
